Pembroke Lodge Winter Wedding Photography - Jenny & Mark

You'd be forgiven for thinking you were seeing double for the title of this post... Another week, another beautiful winter wedding at Pembroke Lodge! This was the wedding of Mark and Jenny and it was another gorgeous sunny January day for their wedding. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but at Blink Photography we do love a winter wedding with all the low atmospheric light and we also loved how game Mark and Jenny were for a good walk around the grounds, to capture the lovely portraits you see below.

Mark and Jenny, we hope your Chinese wedding celebration was as fun as this one and enjoy your well deserved honeymoon in Egypt!

Pembroke Lodge Winter Wedding Photography - Chris & Lily

At Blink Photography we always get excited about our first wedding of the year and this year we didn't have to wait long for Chris and Lily's winter wedding at Pembroke Lodge. They had perfect January weather - a crisp day with lovely winter sun, which I hope meant they didn't miss their home of Melbourne, Australia and the 33 degrees heat too much!

We loved the vintage feel to this wedding, from Lily's lace dress, to her fabulous hairpiece which her sister wore to her own wedding. Because of the weather we were able to make the most of Pembroke Lodge's grounds and the low sun made a perfect setting for winter wedding photography.

Lily & Chris, thanks for making us feel part of your day and we hope you enjoy your Australian wedding celebration just as much(wish we could be there!).

Gaynes Park Wedding Photography - Caroline & Paul

I first met Caroline when she was a bridesmaid at Claire & Olly's wedding at Great Fosters in 2008. So it was extra special to photograph her winter wedding to Paul at All Saints Church, Theydon Garnon and their reception at Gaynes Park, Epping.

There were many things about their wedding that I loved, from the make up by the talented Antonia at Elle Au Naturel Caroline's gorgeous dress by Pronovia to her RED shoes (yes red, I was in shoe heaven!).

I also LOVED everything about Gaynes Park, who coincidently had just won best venue for the East of England region in the Wedding Industry Awards. I can absolutely see why, not only were the staff super helpful, but from the beautiful gardens to the Orangery, to the Mill Barn all were perfect as a background for wedding photography.

Big thanks to Caroline & Paul and their friends and family for the perfect wedding to finish 2011!

Blink Photography's Nonsuch Mansion Wedding featured on The Design Notebook!

You will see from the last few posts how excited we get to be featured on wedding blogs. So imagine how we felt to be featured on The Design Notebook, our recent Nonsuch Mansion bride, Nadines' very own blog! Jo & Richard's stylish wedding took place at St Mary Magdalen's church in Mortlake, with their reception at the fabulous Pembroke Lodge, Richmond. Jo's dress was super glamorous and she actually designed it herself with a wedding dress designer. I particularly loved how it worked with the Spanish style veil.

Jo & Richard were very keen to make the most of Pembroke's beautiful grounds as you can see from the various locations in their portraits. I think it was worth the pain of trekking for miles in those heels Jo, as you can see from this preview of images...

Brooklands Hotel, Surrey - Alex & Martyn's Wedding

So if you are wondering about the first image, Alex is the business partner of my lovely dog walker Pippa, so dogs are a big part of her life(she even had a little dog on her wedding cake!). This is her gorgeous boy Bounsir,I couldn't resist including it :)

Alex and Martyn got married at St Peter's church in Hersham, where sadly photography was not allowed during the service, but I managed to capture some nice ones of Alex & her Dad coming up the aisle and Martyn & Alex on the way out :)

We managed to miss the rain that fell on our way to their reception at Brooklands hotel and then were blessed with beautiful soft light, which was perfect for their portraits.

Loseley Park Wedding Photography - Sophie & Gareth's Wedding

I honestly thought that the unseasonably warm weather we had for Sophie and Gareth's wedding was the last good day of the Summer, turns out I was wrong (didn't know we were getting our Indian Summer at that point!).

Well the weather made for a lovely ceremony and reception at Loseley House and the walled gardens looked glorious in the sunshine.

Greenwich London Wedding Photography - Carla & Neil's Rock N' Roll Wedding

At Blink Photography we love a Rock N' Roll wedding and Carla and Neil's was certainly that! In fact they picked us after seeing Jill and Neil's wedding featured on Rock N' Roll Bride blog.

Like Jill, Carla also chose her dress from one of our favourite dress shops, Fur Coat No Knickers and we must say the girls did her proud with her original cream lace 1950's dress.

The details were AMAZING and we'll let the photographs do the talking, with the exception of Carla's beautiful hand made bouquets, which has to be mentioned as unbelievably Carla made them herself!!!

p.s. If you are wondering who did such a great job of Carla's hair and make up (plus the bridesmaids), I was in awe to find out it was Elbie who has worked with some world renowned photographers and also Kat at Rock N' Roll bride!

We have photographed several weddings at Nonsuch Mansion in Cheam. However since we were last there there has been a fabulous refurbishment making it an even more stunning venue and background for Nadine and Dave's wedding photography.

Mill Hall near Newbury is normally a school working with profoundly deaf children. However it's also a beautiful wedding venue and at Blink Photography we loved the stunning ceremony room and pretty grounds as a background for Jason and Becca's wedding photography.

We also loved how Becca & Jason spent hours planning and creating many of the details, we particularly adored the amazing table planner which is one of the best we have seen, individual vintage keys with a label with each person's name and table, loved it!

Out of Africa - Personal Work

Recently I was lucky enough to spend a few weeks in Africa, specifically in Botswana and Namibia. Our trip covered 3000 km which we covered in self drive pick ups with roof top tents (we also stayed in some beautiful Safari Lodges, so didn't rough it every night!).

At Blink Photography we love all things French, so were very excited when our friends Barbara & James got married in Burgundy, France. We also loved the stunning Chateau De Varrenes, set in beautiful French countryside with all it's gorgeous rooms and details, we also loved the tiny, old chapel and the lovely service(although have to confess understood very little of it!).

Whilst we did not love the rain that started around half an hour before the ceremony, we did love the fact that whilst nearly all the photos were taken indoors, the light and backgrounds more than compensated. We also loved the four course meal & exceptional wine (drunk after the photos were taken as we were guests too!), plus how everyone really got into the party spirit (see evidence below!). There were so many photos to pick from, but here are some of our favourites:-

Our first wedding of the year was Shermayne & Nick's Wedding at St Sarkis Armenian Church, Kensington, followed by their reception at Lillibrooke Manor, Maidenhead.

At Blink Photography we are always excited by a different kind of ceremony and the Armenian service did not disappoint! We loved the chaos at the crowded church, our unprecedented access for taking photographs and the crowning of King Nick and Queen Shermayne (yes really, King & Queen for the day!).

We also loved the amazing colours at the wedding, from the red, purple, green's and blues of the ladies Sari's to the beautiful pink of Shermayne's bouquet. Lastly we adored the Super Hero theme of the reception, from the table planner to that amazing cake (who got to eat Spiderman by the way?!).

365 Project - January

Whilst most of my work is as a Wedding Photographer, I think it's really important to take influence from different areas such as film, music video's and art, so I go the cinema and art galleries frequently (not exactly a hardship!). I also try to shoot as many personal projects as possible, but sometimes find it's hard to fit this in with the day to day running of the business. So this year I decided to sign up to the 365 project. It basically means for a year I have to take and then publish a photograph every single day. The image can be of anything, and will mostly be whatever I come across in everyday life! Here's what I took in January...

Our pre wedding shoot should have been just before Christmas, but unfortunately Shermayne & Nick's car broke down on the way and they had to be towed home :( Our shoot finally took place at Marble Hill Park with only one small incident that involved a low flying bird and Nicks jacket! Dartmouth House, London, Wedding Photographer - Kwok & Keiko's Wedding

Finally, here it is (insert drum roll!). Kwok and Keiko's wedding from Dartmouth House in Mayfair. At Blink Photography there were so many things we loved about Kwok & Keiko's wedding, from the gorgeous suite where they got ready in the Chesterfield hotel, Keiko's amazing make up & hair artist (who followed us round Hyde Park retouching when necessary!), the three hours prior to the ceremony they allowed us for Bride & Groom portraits (yup 3 hours and it raced by!), Kevin the most laid back but efficient best man, the simply stunning Dartmouth House with it's many beautiful rooms and that stunning marble staircase, the emotional ceremony and last but not least Kwok and Keiko and their lovely, friendly family and friends, thanks for allowing us to be part of your day!

I'm blogging quite a few more photos than normal, there were just so many to pick from and this is my last wedding of 2010 ...

Pembroke Lodge Wedding Photographer - Sara & Nick's Wedding

The weather did not behave on the day of Sara & Nick's wedding at the end of September. It was cold and pretty wet, but what we loved about Sara was that this did not bother her one bit and whilst the bottom of her dress was getting REALLY wet and muddy she kept on smiling and insisted we carry on with the photographs outside. We also loved the fantastic best men, ushers and bridesmaids who were so fun and entertaining (especially during the speeches!) and last but not least the fabulous staff, who were as helpful and accommodating as always on this my last Pembroke Lodge wedding of the year.

It feels a long time since Adam & Amanda's September wedding at the Church of St Mary the Virgin, Merton and Pembroke Lodge, Richmond. Since then we have snuck in a sneaky and much needed holiday in the sun :) So editing these images brought back memories of a sunny and warm September day... We loved Amanda's gorgeous birdcage veil, her detachable train (although there was a small panic that involved the afore mentioned train and safety pins in the morning), the fabulous Rosie - their vintage white Rolls Royce (we also love their car having a name!). We also adored the sweets table (and have to admit to snaffling one or two Flumps...), the lovely cherry blossom decorated cake and the librarians with a great sense of humour - who knew?! Sonia and Oliver got married at Pembroke Lodge, Richmond on a bright sunny September day. At Blink Photography we love the Richmond Gate Hotel where Sonia got ready in a rather large suite with low but beautiful light. We also loved her beautiful Joyce Young dress with it's orchid detail, the bright purple orchids in the bride's bouquet, lovely Jenny the bridesmaid's fun and extremely photogenic kids, the brides dad helping Sonia with her dress, the fabulous cake with it's butterflies and flowers and last but definitely NOT least, Darth Vader's Imperial March being played just before the bride's entrance (yup we're closet Star Wars fans!).

At Blink Photography we love photographing the bride at weddings, so when Margaret told us she didn't like being photographed we were a bit worried... However we loved how she entered into the spirit of things on the day and you've got to admit Margaret you look beautiful in these photos!

We also loved the wierdness of the Smart Car convention (yes really!) taking place at Brooklands Hotel where Jo was getting ready, the vicar at St Mary Oatlands for letting us take lots of photos during the service, the fab heart adorned pews, the beautiful grey Bentley, the gorgeous 'tree' table plan, the sweetie table and the fact John sprayed each and every heart place name to the right green to match their colour scheme, true love indeed!

At Blink Photography we LOVE all things quirky and vintage, so Jill and Neil's wedding was a dream come true! We loved Jill's 1950's vintage dress from the wonderful Fur Coat No Knickers, her restored original hairpiece, the HUGE and beautiful Southwark Cathedral, the vintage red bus, the 1926 Gramophone (complete with Nipper the dog!), the carefully collected eclectic teacups, the cupcakes and all the other personal and beautifully thought out details. All weddings are special, but due to circumstances Jill and Neil's meeting and marriage are particularly special and we just loved being part of their wedding day. Gray's Inn Wedding Photographer - Genie & Martin's Wedding

At Blink Photography we love to photograph a wedding with a difference and so thank you to Martin & Genie for allowing us to be part of your wedding day. We loved the mixture of English, Chinese and German influences, the Chinese Tea Ceremony, Genie's beautiful hand embroidered Chinese dress, in fact all three of Genie's wedding dresses (yup girls, she got to wear 3 dresses!), both your wonderful welcoming families and the stunning Great Hall at Gray's Inn that reminded us of Hogwarts :)

A special mention must go to the highly recommended videographers Ben & James at HNE Media, my second photographer Marcus and the other photographer (yup 3 photographers!), Jin.

Sorry to take so long to blog this Steph & Will, as you know I took a cheeky few days off last week and so quickly have got behind with blogging :( However, it seems like only yesterday since you bravely ignored your broken ankle (yes really!) Steph and put on your wedding dress. We LOVED your flowers (how gorgeous did the Russell Suite look with all those purple and lilac arrangments!), the white Rolls Royce, the cheeky groomsmen, your welcoming families and those speeches that we couldn't stop laughing at (even the Klingon Will!).
